Jeffrey Johnson, 29, of the City of Poughkeepsie, was found around 2:21 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 12, when police responded to a report of a possible rollover crash, City of Poughkeepsie Det. Lt. Matt Clark said.
When police arrived on the scene they discovered that Johnson had an apparent gunshot wound.
City of Poughkeepsie Fire Department personnel and Mobile Life Support Services had also responded to the scene and transported Johnson to a local hospital.
A short time later, Johnson was pronounced dead by hospital staff, Clark said.
On Friday, Dec. 13, an autopsy was conducted Johnson and the cause of death was determined to be a gunshot wound to his left thigh, Clark added.
